Google updates Photos app; brings collage editor, shareable Memories

With a new update, Google is upgrading its Memories feature which has existed since 2020 to create the most updated version of Memories since it was launched.

Google says that Memories is extremely popular, netting more than 3.5 billion views per month. The feature has now been redesigned to be more dynamic.

The Photos app has been improved with a new feature that lets you see just enough of the videos to make your viewing experience more fun while still letting you fully enjoy it at your own leisure. The feature of zooming in or out makes images in Memories more immersive.

Users can now have the ability to share a Memory with another Photos user. The option to share a Memory through a Web link and to iOS will be coming soon. Google notes that users can still choose to exclude photos of certain people or time periods from their Memories, reported GSM Arena.

One way your memories will feel more real is through Cinematic photos — Google Photos generates a 3-D image and it will generate animated videos with Cinema photography.

Another appreciated feature is the new collage editor. Users can finally edit their collages with different grids, move photos around, and even choose a background for each collage, Google calls it Styles, with several designs being developed as per GSM Arena.
